The Banned Book Club meets the last Thursday of the month at 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Join the discussion in person in the staff meeting room or via Zoom link. The discussion centers around a specific banned book each month.

The featured book for April, in observance of World Autism Month, is the mystery novel by Mark Haddon The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It is about a 15-year-old boy with Asperger’s Syndrome, who investigates the death of a neighbor’s dog and uncovers dark truths about his family. It has been removed from classroom assignments in Florida and Tennessee after parents complained about profanity and anti-religious expression.  It is also a multiple-Tony winning Broadway play.

Physical copies can be checked out on a first come first served basis at the reference desk. You can access e-reader and audiobook copies through the libraries Libby and Hoopla apps. Call the reference desk for assistance 575-528-4005.
