The Banned Books Club meets the last Thursday of the month from 12:00 to 1:00. The discussion centers around a specific banned book each month. The selection for the month of January is Wicked by Gregory MacGuire. 

“Listen up, Munchkins. Stop your singing, stop the dancing. The Wicked Witch is no longer dead. But not to worry...". The newly released movie is based on this book.  The book was challenged in schools Florida and elsewhere for passages that were considered "sexually offensive," and criticized for exploring the concept of evil being and a "real downer."

Physical copies can be checked out on a first come first served basis at the reference desk and will be available March 1st. You can access e-reader and audiobook copies through the libraries  Hoopla app. Call the reference desk for assistance 575-528-4005.
