¡Amigues! There’s power in seeing yourself in the books you read. Latiné book clubs offer a supportive space to celebrate literature together. All are invited to read about and discuss the social dynamics of our lived experience across Latiné origin or decent. Join us the third Wednesday of the month at noon for lunchtime book discussion at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library or online via Zoom.
The book club selection for the month of December is Sabrina & Corina by Kali Fajardo-Anstine. A haunting debut story collection on friendship, mothers and daughters, and the deep-rooted truths of our homelands, centered on Latinas of indigenous ancestry. Set against the remarkable backdrop of Denver, Colorado, Sabrina & Corina is a moving narrative of unrelenting feminine power and an exploration of the universal experiences of abandonment, heritage, and an eternal sense of home.
You can read the book by checking it out from the reference desk starting December 1st.
Registration is optional. If you choose to register you will get a reminder of the event sent to your email.
