¡Amigues! There’s power in seeing yourself in the books you read. Latiné book clubs offer a supportive space to celebrate literature together. All are invited to read about and discuss the social dynamics of our lived experience across Latiné origin or decent. Join us the last Wednesday of the month at noon for lunchtime book discussion at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library or online via Zoom.
Our book discussion for the month of July will be "Street of Too Many Stories" by Las Cruces' own Denise Chávez, who will be joining us for the discussion.
"Street of Too Many Stories, is an expansive yet richly intimate tale about the inhabitants of a New Mexican calle. Chávez embraces the losses, dreams, and secrets of the border, its peoples, and of the complex destinies set in motion by place. A sensory feast!" Cristina García, author of Vanishing Maps.
You can read the book by checking it out from the reference desk starting July 1st.
Registration is optional. If you choose to register you will get a reminder of the event sent to your email.
