¡Amigues! There’s power in seeing yourself in the books you read. Latiné book clubs offer a supportive space to celebrate literature together. All are invited to read about and discuss the social dynamics of our lived experience across Latiné origin or decent. Join us the third Wednesday of the month at noon for lunchtime book discussion at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library or online via Zoom.

Our book discussion for the month of September will be "The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love" by Oscar Hijuelos

It tells the story of two Cuban brothers and musicians, Cesar and Nestor Castillo, who immigrate to the United States and settle in New York City in the early 1950's. The novel follows their lives, loves, and struggles as they try to make it in the music industry. The novel was a huge international bestseller and won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1990.
