¡Amigues! There’s power in seeing yourself in the books you read. Latiné book clubs offer a supportive space to celebrate literature together. All are invited to read about and discuss the social dynamics of our lived experience across Latiné origin or decent. Join us the third Wednesday of the month at noon for lunchtime book discussion at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library or online via Zoom.
The book club selection for the month of February is Love in the Time of Cholera, a novel by Gabriel García Márquez. It is an intimate and deep reflection on love, life, death, and society. The novel incorporates magical realism, merging the commonplace and the spectacular to explore the depths of human feeling. It has been called a masterpiece of sensuous prose.
You can read the book by checking it out from the reference desk at the main library location, or by accessing it as an audiobook on in Spanish on the Libby app.
Registration is optional. If you choose to register you will get a reminder of the event sent to your email.
