Social Justice Book Group will discuss books related to a topic of local, national or international importance.

The topic for June is Transgender Justice in celebration of LGBTQA+ Pride Month. The featured book is The Transgender Issue: An Argument for Justice (also in print as The Transgender Issue: Trans Justice is Justice for All) by Shon Faye. The book is described as a compelling, wide-ranging analysis of trans lives from youth to old age, exploring work, family, housing, healthcare, the prison system, and trans participation in the LGBTQ+ and feminist communities. The book is available as an e-book and audiobook on the Libby app.

Book group members don’t necessarily have to read the featured book. They are encouraged to contribute to with discussion of a book on the topic they have read, or by sharing their experience or curiosity about the topic. A reading list on the topic can he found HERE.
