Social Justice Book Group will discuss books related to a topic of local, national or international importance. A librarian will introduce a featured book on the subject and group members are invited to introduce a book for discussion that they have read. The featured book for the month of August is They Called Me a Lioness: A Palestinian Girl's Fight for Freedom by Ahed Tamimi and Dena Takruri. 

With their unflinching, riveting storytelling, Ahed Tamimi and Dena Takruri shine a light on the humanity not just in occupied Palestine but also in the unsung lives of people struggling for freedom around the world.

Book group members don’t necessarily have to read the featured book. They are encouraged to contribute to with discussion of a book on the topic they have read, or by sharing their experience or curiosity about the topic. A reading list on the topic can he found HERE..
