Social Justice Book Group will discuss books related to a topic of local, national or international importance. A librarian will introduce a book on the subject and group members are invited to introduce a book for discussion that they have read. The featured book for the month of September is The Line Becomes a River: Dispatches from the Border by Francisco Cantú. 

A raw and soul-searching account of four years as a border patrol agent, exploring the landscape, violence, and human experiences along the border.

Book group members don’t necessarily have to read the featured book. They are encouraged to contribute to with discussion of a book on the topic they have read, or by sharing their experience or curiosity about the topic. A reading list on the topic can he found HERE.
